I'm currently a biodiversity genomics postdoc at the Smithsonian Institution, where I split time between the National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. In 2014, I was granted a PhD from Stanford University and through-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail shortly thereafter. My major research interest is in using marine species invasions to explore rapid adaptation; I study this by integrating genomics, ecology, and physiology. My major non-research interests are the science of food and cooking, nerdy baking projects, hiking and backpacking, and singular roadside attractions.
